Title: Traite Elementaire de Geometrie Descriptive, 1852. 1st Edition
Author: Henri-Edouard Tresca
Publisher: Librairie De L. Hachette, Paris
A first edition of Tresca’s work on descriptive geometry, being a branch that would allow for the representation of three-dimensional objects in two dimensions. Since its conception, this has proven to be invaluable for engineering, architecture, design and in art. The works of Albrecht Dürer were the earliest known to feature these types of geometrical figures in the early 16th century.
The second volume is full of geometrical illustrations and figures.
Two volumes in octavo, 223+63 pages
On note of condition, these volumes are in fair shape, with wear and rubbing noted at the corners and edges. Part of the spine has fallen off the main volume, with heavy wear at the joints. There is foxing and staining present throughout both volumes.
