A historical novel, it focuses on the main character Edward Waverley, an English gentleman, who enlists in the army just before the Jacobite uprising of 1745, and the events that follow suit.
This volume bears the crest of Great Yarmouth Grammar School.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with minor wear and rubbing, along with light scuffing to the binding. There is some foxing at the very end of the margins.
