Title: The Tragedies of Sophocles, 1788
Author: Sophocles, translated by R. Porter
Publisher: G. G. J. & J. Robinson, London
A scarce 18th century printing of the ancient Greek tragedies of Sophocles, containing his great plays of Ajax, Antigone, Oedipus at Colonus, and the rest.
One volume in quarto/small folio, 583 pages
On note of condition, the binding is incredibly weak, with the boards just hanging on by a few threads. Oddly enough there is very little chipping or damage to the boards or spine itself, namely the weakened binding. The first several pages display foxing and staining, with the rest of the book having little to none.
