Of De Montoya, he was a Spanish Benedictine monk, being a monastery prior at Salamanca, Zamora and Celanova, as well as serving as the abbot from San Facundo de Sahagun in the province of Leon.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, as well as some staining. There is some peeling to the top of the rear board. There is some staining throughout.
