Or, The Works of Horace, written in the original Latin, 1853
Author: Horace, edited by H.H. Milman
Publisher: Joannem Murrary, London
A mid 19th century edition of the poetical works of Horace.
One of the foremost poets of ancient Rome during the era of Octavian, Horace's work often drifted from classical hexameter verse to often crude and obscene iambic poetry, making this a fairly eclectic volume.
One volume in 4to, 490 pages
There are close to 200 different illustrations spread throughout the volume, ranging from quarter sized to occasional full page illustrations.
On note of condition, the binding is in excellent shape, with only some wear noted along the edges and hinges.
The pages themselves show very little to no foxing, although the first several pages at the front show heavier signs.
