A scarce dual language edition of Ovid’s Epistulae Heroidum, otherwise known as the Letters of Heroines, being a collection of fifteen epistolary poems composed by Ovid in Latin elegiac couplets. The poem have been presented as though they were written by a selection of aggrieved heroines of Greek and Roman mythology in address to their heroic lovers who in some way mistreated, neglected, or abandoned them.
This edition contains the original Latin text parallel to its French translation, with pages 2-204 numbered in duplicate.
There is an additional title page in French, with the errata and index included.

On note of condition, this volume is in fair shape, with wear and rubbing at the corners, the leather peeling at the joints which are stressed, and the top part of the leather on the spine having peeled off. There is some staining noted throughout the volume.
