The volume bears the bookplate of Professor Gerald E. Aylmer FBA (1926-2000), historian of 17th-century England and master of St Peter’s College, Oxford.

This volume is in good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, and cracking to the hinges, with one cord to the front cover coming undone. The first few pages are frayed at the edges. There is some soiling throughout.
