A mid 16th century edition of the Sixteen Familiar Letters of Marcus Tullius Cicero, with each of their arguments, varieties of readings, annotations, schools, and observations of more than four and twenty learned men who wrote in them learnedly and eruditely.
The title page, as well as the first eight preliminary leaves have been fully encapsulated in some sort of material for restoration.
This volume has been fully rebound, but the original blind tooled pigskin leather has been preserved and reused to the covers. There are several leather tabs, and remnants of tabs.
One rebound volume in folio, 44+803 pages
This volume is in very good shape, with rubbing and wear to the original pigskin, and very little wear or rubbing to the rebound leather. There is worming roughly up to page 161, growing considering lighter as it progresses. There is scattered foxing and staining throughout.
