A rather interesting manuscript book of prayer from the 17th century, loosely following the structure of a Book of Hours, bound with a Traicté des Scrupulles, also known as a Treatise on Scrupulles, and Remedies Against Them. There is also a printed Petit Office bound in, taking pages 408-460 from another work.
The manuscript begins with a Disposition for Confession, a calendar with several feast days noted, and another small calendar for feasts of Christ. The main text begins with Matins and goes onwards into various sections, for communion, prayers to the Virgin, popular devotions such as the Seven Joys of the Virgin, and more. Several engravings have been bound in as well.
To the pastedowns are two large engravings, one of Charitas, and another figure.
This manuscript has been bound in black Morocco leathering, with some tooling. There is one clasp.
One finely bound manuscript in 18mo, 378+124+(408-460)+16 pages
This manuscript is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding. One quire is slightly shaken but holding firm. There is minor soiling throughout.
