An extremely scarce early 16th century edition of the Book of Psalms, taken from the Vulgate Bible. The text is printed throughout in red and black, with a woodcut initial of King David.
The endpapers have been heavily annotated. There is an ownership inscription for the name of one Sarah Hotwood.
Worldcat records three existing copies of this edition in libraries. USTC records only one.
One finely bound volume in 32mo (10.2 x 7.4 cm), 140+(4) leaves
This volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, namely some splitting to the hinges, and a bit of leather lacking to the head and foot of the spine. There is very little foxing or staining throughout, with some staining namely to the title page.
