A mid 16th century edition of the most devoted letters of the blessed virgin. St. Catherine of Siena, with all the diligence that could be reprinted. Catherine of Siena belonged to the third order of St. Dominic and was respected because of her visions, her self-sacrificing nursing and statesmanship. A 14th-century Dominican mystic, Catherine’s letters on mysticism, the papacy, and prayer were highly influential in the development of the Catholic Church through the Renaissance. These letters have provided a clear vision into mystical philosophy from the 14th century.
