A late 16th century edition of Plutarch’s Lives, being a later edition by Jacques Amyot originally published in 1559, being illustrated with woodcut medallion portraits. Added is also a translation of the Life of Hannibal and Scipio by Charles de l'Ecluse, which was originally published in 1572. There are pencil annotations in the margins.

On note of condition, this volume is in poor shape, with both boards being cleanly detached, with the title page and several leaves attached to the front board. There is minor foxing and staining present throughout. The boards are also scuffed and worn.
