Title: Les Loix des Batimens suivant la coutume de Paris, 1752. Tome I of II
Author: Antoine Desgodets & M Goupy
Publisher: Chez Antoine Philibert, A Geneve
An early edition of Degodets lectures on the construction rules of 17th century France. Degodets had earned himself a lofty reputation as an author through the “Edifices Antiques de Rome” , later becoming Architect to the King, and later becoming professor at the Royal Academy of Architecture.
While the lectures were never published during his lifetime, their subsequent publishing, provided with additional commentary and notes from Parisian architect Martin Goupy proved to be a fantastic study on the subject, combining all relevant regulations and legal systems.
