A late 18th century edition of the second volume of Noel Antoine Pluche’s illustrated work on natural history, La Spectacle de la Nature. This volume is profusely illustrated with fold out plates of arboriculture, gardens, fruits, and more.

Pluche was a French priest, best-known for this work. His Spectacle de la Nature was first published in 1732 and was the subject of numerous translations throughout Europe due to its popularity. Although it influenced many to become naturalists and for this particular volume, explore the wonder of botany, it was a work meant to popularize these subjects, and spread awareness.

33 of 35 plates are present, with the majority having been colored by hand.

One volume in octavo, 486 pages

On note of condition, this volume is in fair shape, as there is significant wear on the binding, more notably on the spine. There is minor foxing and staining present throughout the volume, with most of the plates displaying some minor tears and curling.
