A scarce early 16th century edition of the first volume of the Bible in French, printed by Jacques Sacon, being a near identical reprint of the Bible Historiale produced by Sacon in 1518, printed this time on behalf of the bookseller Pierre Bailly.
This Bible has been printed in a gothic font, in two columns. There are 61 woodcuts in the first volume, all decorated with woodcut borders, with some smaller woodcuts and woodcut initials throughout.
The title page and preliminary leaves are lacking, as is the first numbered leaf beginning Genesis.

The leaves have been tipped into a slightly smaller folio binding of the Hypnerotomachia Polyphia.
