An extremely scarce first edition collection of Jauffret’s periodical series, The Children’s Mail. Published from 1796 to 1799, this periodical series was solely devoted to the amusement and instruction of the youth, with 2 issues published per month. Auction records are scarce in detailing this work, as are catalog records in general. The series consists of fables, tales, as well as other dramatic and poetic pieces aimed towards the youth. While popular upon release, the series was not heavily reprinted.
This partial set collects volumes 4 and 8 to 17, encompassing all four years of publishing.
