An early 18th century edition of the Works of Jacob Sannazar.
This copy is present in a fine leather binding with gilt tooling, and bearing the arms of Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, also known as Madame de Pompadour, a member of the French court. Both aide and advisor to King Louis XV, she created a network of influence within the court, securing titles of nobility for herself and relatives, and even becoming names as a lady-in-waiting to the queen. She was the official chief mistress of Louis XV from 1745 to 1751 and remained influential as court favourite until her death.

One finely bound volume in 12mo, 165+(3) pages
On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, notably to the corners. The gilt arms to the rear is scraped at the center. There is light foxing throughout. The binding is splayed.
