A scarce first edition of de Tournes’ Insignium Aliquot Virorum Icons, containing a lovely collection of over 140 woodcut medallions bearing the icons of various figures from Greek and Roman antiquity, such as Plato, Socrates, Homer, and many more, along with brief biographies for each figure.
The last page with the printer device, Leaf P2, and the index, are lacking.

This volume is in fair shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, and a bit of leather peeling. The preliminary leaves have been heavily restored, with some text loss. The first page is also restored, but there is no loss to the text or woodcuts. Pages 225-236 are also somewhat restored, with a bit of text loss, but no woodcut loss. There is some staining throughout.
