A biographical history of King Henry the Great, being dedicated to HRH Prince Henri, Duke of Bordeaux.
On note of Péréfixe de Beaumont, he was a French clergyman and historian, private tutor, later confessor of Louis XIV, later becoming archbishop of Paris, and fought against the Jansenism movement on the side of the Papal States. As head of the king's house, he had told his student the story of Henry the Great in 1647. In 1661 this historical retelling was published in 1661.
This volume happens to bear the armorial prize binding from the prestigious College Royal de Caen.
