An extremely scarce mid 19th century edition of The History of the Knight of Saint-Georges. There are two plates of illustration.
This edition is bound in a richly decorated and ornate cartonnage binding of the period, with gilt against jet black. There is a central panel design to the front cover featuring a scroll and a lantern atop.
One finely decorated cartonnage volume in 12mo, 294 pages
This volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, and slight cracking to the front hinge. There is minor foxing and staining throughout.
