A mid-17th century French account book dated 1668, wrapped in a vellum manuscript, and handwritten on sturdy rag paper of the period. Every single entry is written in a flowing hand, with a pile of signatures at the end.

The vellum manuscript serving as the binding appears to be a few decades older than the account book itself, owing to the script. Whether it is late 16th, or early 17th century, is hard to say, as there is no inscribed date to the vellum manuscript itself.

The manuscript is in folio size and has 164 pages, with a few blank pages in between it all.

This manuscript is in very good shape, with some rubbing and old staining to the covers, and the front cover prone to flapping open. There is some foxing and occasional staining throughout.
