A late 15th century edition of Saint Augustine's commentary on the Psalms, one of his chief exegetical works. This is a later Amerbach edition, and the first to contain the fourth part, 'Principalium sententiarum in explanatione libri psalmorum divi Augustini Annotatio'.
This volume has been rubricated throughout in red and blue, with some larger painted initials. This volume has been rebacked, with the original tooled boards still preserved, and newer endpapers. The clasps are lacking.
Four parts bound into one tooled and rebacked leather volume in folio, 426 leaves
This volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, and stress to the ends of the hinges. The first leaf has been restored, with a repair to the right. The inner margin of a8 has been repaired. There is a small tear to the lower margin of leaf C1. There is a wormhole to the outer margin of leaf tt4 onwards. There is some scattered staining throughout, more to the margins, with wear to some of the page edges.
