Title: Der grosse wohlriechende Myrrhen-Garten, (1699?)
Author: Martin von Cochem
Publisher: Unknown
Condition: Fair

An illustrated and late 17th century edition of Cochem’s Myrrehen-Garten, being a Dutch devotional text, filled with prayers for all major celebrations and feiertags of the year.

From evening prayers, confessions, communion, pilgrimages, and more, there are a vast assortment of prayers present in this volume, including those for the Blessed Sacrament and High Sacrament.

Unlike later editions in the 18th century, this edition is illustrated with seven full page religious woodcuts, on top of the front piece.

The covers bear an interesting, yet uneven embossed binding, with a church on the front, and what appears to be a large building on the back cover.

Collation on Worldcat does not seem to match this with any known editions, although the previous owner has penciled the date of 1699 on the front endpaper.

One volume in octavo, 526 pages + index

On note of condition this volume is in fair shape, with wear and rubbing noted on the bindings, more so at the spine. The embossed binding has almost been completely worn down on the back. There is some foxing present throughout, with minor tears on several pages.
