A first edition of Skene’s work on ancient Scottish Legal terms, effectively acting as an early dictionary on Scottish Law. This work itself is more commonly found bound with The Lawes and Actes of Parliament. Of Skene himself, he was a noted prosecutor and judge.
One volume in folio, 146 pages
On note of condition, this volume is in good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the boards, with the upper joint starting to fray. There is a repaired tear to the head of the K5 leaf, with minor letter loss, though the overall wording is still present. The front pastedown has some peeling, as a previous owner tried to remove something. There is minor foxing and staining throughout.
