A scarce mid 16th century edition of Topiarius’ pastoral theological work entitled Sermons in the Gospels and Epistles, Which are Wont to be Presented to the People in the Church on the Holy Days of the Whole Year, for all the Ecclesiastes of modern times, and from the Tables of Winter and Summer.
This volume has been bound in blind stamped pigskin over wooden boards, with tooled images to the cover, featuring central panels of Fides and another figure, with God the Holy Father above, and bordering images of Fides and Spes in repeat. The rear board features Charitas and another figure at the center, bordered with tooled images of Justica and Charitas in repeat. There are two functioning clasps.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, namely to the upper and lower parts of the boards. There’s very little foxing or staining throughout.
