A first edition of Dithmar’s heraldic work in support of the Hanoverian dysnasty, and the Order of Bath, whose recipients are enumerated here, and which was founded by George I in 1725.
There is a large frontispiece portrait of Prince William present, with 4 other large engraved pictorial headpieces, along with 20 plates of coats-of-arms, with most containing 4 images. In total, there are 140 coats of arms of the knights of the order.
Two parts in one volume, in folio, (8)+89, VIII+40+(6) pages
On note of condition, this volume is in fair shape, with rubbing and wear to the boards, along with some peeling to the spine. There is minor foxing and staining throughout.
