A mid 17th century carta de hidalguia manuscript, or patent of nobility for one Pedro Gonzalez, granted in Calahorra in April 1637, and registered in Arnedillo, a village in the province and autonomous community of La Rioja, Spain.
This manuscript presents calligraphy of the mid 17th century, written with a very fine hand. The illuminated coat of arms is present at the start, taking up more than half the page. The silk guard protecting the miniature is present.
One vellum bound manuscript in folio, 20 leaves
On note of condition, this manuscript is in very good shape, with light rubbing and wear, and staining to the covers. There is some foxing throughout.
