A first edition of the seventh volume of the Bijutsu Sekai, also known as the World of Art. An art magazine published in the Late Meiji Era, the magazine presented fifteen or more works of well-known contemporary and past master artists to the public in woodblock form in each issue, 25 in total. The woodblocks were either small scale reproductions of paintings or original woodblocks produced for the magazine series.
Each magazine issue was edited by the nihonga artist and woodblock print designer who specialized in bird and flower paintings.
This volume contains illustrations by Katsushika Hokusai, Kono Bairei, Imao Keinen, Watanabe Seitei, and others. There are 29 pages of woodblock illustrations, with many in full color.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and staining to the covers. There is minor staining throughout, with heavier pink staining to the center of the page margins.
