A late 19th century edition of Hanzan’s Amida Kyowakun Zue, featuring various illustrations and scenes, including one striking image of two demons stealing away with a hapless figure.
Hanzan was a painter working in Osaka, and son of the Osaka kyoka poet Kirotei Rikimaru.
There are 10, 7, 9 pages of woodblock illustrations, respectively. 10 are full-page.
Three volumes in quarto, 26, 22, 23 leaves
On note of condition, these volumes are in good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the bindings. There is worming noted on the upper margins of the pages, with little to no foxing or staining throughout.
