Title: Accounting Register for Jaspar Postestat. French Manuscript on Paper, 1577
Author: Jaspar Postestat
A late 16th century manuscript accounting register belonging from the Prince-Bishopric of Liege and the Duchy of Limburg, an ecclesiastical principality, and imperial estate of the Holy Roman Empire. This manuscript is for the records of Jaspar Postestat, merchant and citizen of the City of Liege, with numerous entries in a fine script.
This manuscript is present in an early embossed leather binding, likely contemporary to the period, and still impressive despite heavy wear.
One manuscript in folio, 82 leaves + 77 blanks + 18 leaves
This manuscript is in fair shape, with rubbing and wear to the binding, and splitting to the front hinge. There is some leather lacking to the binding, especially to the spine. There is some foxing and toning throughout, especially to the first leaf.
