A French philosophe and grammarian, Dumarsais was a prominent figure of the Enlightenment Period, contributing to Diderot's Encyclopedia.
There are sketches to the rear pastedown left behind by an early owner, with horses and hunters and a very unnerving portrait.

On note of condition, this volume is in good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, and peeling to the spine. There is some foxing throughout.
