An early 19th century edition of Harpe's Abrégé du lycée, being a summary of ancient and modern literature for high school students of the 1800s. From ancient Greek and Roman philosophers and poets such as Plato, Cicero, Virgil, and more, to the somewhat more recent writers such as La Fontaine, Milton, Voltaire, and others, this makes for a finely bound educational text, for both students and adult readers.
Two finely bound volumes in Octavo, 516+552 pages. Bearing the crests of the College Royal De Versailles, or the esteemed Lycee Hoche as it is known today. There is also a handwritten gift note glued to the front endpaper.
On note of condition, both volumes are in good condition., with the bindings holding well, with some joint wear, minor spine flaking, and minor foxing noted throughout both volumes.
