Title: A Manuscript Copy of Veni Creator Spiritus and Papal Commentaries, 1796
Condition: Very Good

A small manuscript from the late 18th century, featuring Latin text of the hymn Veni Creator Spiritus (Come, Creator Spirit), as well as news relating to the short pontifical of May 26, 1796 on Pope Pius VI.

The ownership initials of AC have been left on the first page.

The hymn was believed to have been written by Rabanus Maurus, around the 9th century. In the original Latin text, it has been historically sung in Gregorian Chant. It has been translated into several languages, often as a hymn for Pentecost.

One small volume in 16mo, 12 pages, 6 of which only contain text

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape. There is some wear and rubbing on the marbled cardboard binding, though it holds quite well. There is some staining present, with only trace foxing.
