Story has served as a significantly important figure in Quaker history, as his writings and work influenced them over past generations. As a Friend, Story traveled all around the world to where other Quakers lived, even settling in Pennsylvania for some time where his friend William was.
Throughout the volume are countless tales and experiences Thomas has described, and many moments where he had to defend fellow Quakers as well as well as his personal beliefs, especially when it came to refusing the bearing of arms.

On note of condition, this volume is in excellent condition, having been rebound during the 20th century, in a rather interesting mixture of styles from various periods. The title page is fairly stained and bears signs of repair, and there is some minor staining and foxing noted throughout the volume.
