Title: Medieval Quittance of the 100 Years War for Jehan Chantepine, granted by Monseigneur Jehan le Nucier, royal advisor to King Charles VI. Manuscript on Parchment, 1385
Condition: Very Good

A medieval manuscript from the Caen region of Normandy, in France, handwritten on parchment, and produced in the year 1385, during the reign of Pope Urban VI, and more significantly, during the 100 Years War that enveloped England and France in a constant struggle.

The manuscript is a quittance for one Jehan Chantepine, and his admission in receiving the sum of eight hundred francs. The manuscript also names the involved party Monseigneur Jehan le Nucier, royal advisor to King Charles VI, and maitre d'hotel de la chambre du roi, who would supervise the entirety of the King's Household.

The manuscript is written in a 5-line format, with an elaborate signature at the end.

One manuscript on parchment, 10 x 32 cm

On note of condition, this manuscript is in very good shape, with some old staining to the rear and fold marks, with the text still clearly legible. There is an old tear at the beginning of the text.
