An early 19th century edition of the Europides tragedy, Phoenissae, otherwise known as The Phoenician Women. Additionally bound is The School of the Early Grammarians in Euripides’ Phoenissae.
This volume has been bound as a school prize binding, bearing the gilt coat of arms of Schiedam. The prize has been awarded to one Janus Kruijff in 1831 by the Latin school of Schiedam.
Two parts in one vellum bound volume in quarto, (4)+XXIII+(1)+452, 196 pages
This volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and staining to the binding, and cracking to the front hinge. The ties are lacking. There is minor foxing throughout.
