Title: Operum Ioan. Chrysostomi Constantinopolitani. Homilias complectens. LXXXIX. Tomus Primus, 1522
Author: John Chrysostom
Publisher: Apud Inclytam Galliae Lutetiam [Paris]: Petrus Gromorus
An extremely scarce early 16th century edition volume of the complete works of Saint John Chrysostom, comprising of his 89 Homilies. This is the first volume of 6.
This particular volume has been published by the bookseller-printer Jean Gromors, active during the early to mid 16th century, with the title page splendidly decorated with the large printer device and surrounded by a woodcut border.
Worldcat records 1 existing copy of this edition in libraries. USTC does not provide any results, and only refers to the Basel edition.
One volume in folio, CCLXVIII leaves, with numbering errors
On note of condition, this volume is in poor shape, as the volume is entirely disbound, with the title page, and first two quires detached. The rest of the text block is holding, though shaken, and the first two quires at the rear are starting. There is some worming and staining throughout. A candidate for rebinding.
