Title: Medieval Charter for Jacobus de Bry(?), 1481. Large Manuscript on Parchment
A massive medieval charter from France, handwritten on parchment, written in Latin, and produced in the year 1481, during the reign of Pope Sixtus IV. The charter involves one Jacobus de Bry(?), and is written in a 166-line format, with an elaborate ornate signature at the end.
While the manuscript itself is one roll, it is in fact two pieces, stitched together.
One large manuscript on parchment, 140 by 68cm
This manuscript is in fair shape, with staining and wear to the parchment. Portions of parchment are lacking at the upper sides of the manuscript. Some of the wear and staining has made the affected text difficult to read or faded, but the rest of it is remarkably legible. Due to creases the manuscript does not roll up perfectly.
