A mid 13th century leaf from a Latin Bible produced in England, circa 1260 AD. This leaf was written on parchment in black ink, with an early Gothic font in two columns from both the front and back side. There are Lombard style rubricated spring plant initials in blue, with extensively decorated vines and spring work in red.
One parchment leaf in octavo, 19.5 x 14 cm, 44 lines of text per side
This leaf is in very good shape, with staining to the inner margins of the leaf and rear bottom left corner. There is some rippling to the leaf.
